Tiger Woods returns home to Florida to continue recovering from injuries in a horrific car accident

Tiger Woods returned to his Florida home to recover from the leg injuries he suffered in a terrible car accident in Los Angeles last month.

Woods, 45, suffered several leg injuries after being involved in a single vehicle rollover collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes in late February.

“I am happy to report that I am back home and continuing my recovery. I am very grateful for the show of support and encouragement I have received in the past few weeks,” Woods said in a statement to Golf Digest on Tuesday. “Thanks to the incredible surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. You all took such good care of me and I can’t thank you enough.

“I will recover at home and work to get stronger every day.”

While he returned to Florida, authorities in Los Angeles are still investigating the accident. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant to retrieve data from the black box that was in the Genesis SUV 2021 that Woods was driving at the time of the accident.

Authorities said the investigation was still ongoing. Woods was seriously injured, but officials said there was no evidence that he was disabled at the time. He suffered serious injuries to his legs.

Golfers Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas gave Woods a positive outlook as he continues to recover.

The golfer is known for twists, however, winning the Masters in April 2019 for the fifth time, despite four back surgeries and other health problems.

He won 15 major championships and has a record 82 PGA Tour victories.
