11:43 am PT – A source from the LA County Sheriff’s Department said TMZ Sports they do not believe that alcohol is involved, but did not say whether any other substances were possibly involved.
Tiger Woods he was hospitalized after a serious car accident in Los Angeles County on Tuesday morning – with the authorities demanding the maximum of his life to free him from the vehicle.
“On February 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12 am, LASD responded to an overturning vehicle collision at the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes,” officials said.
“The vehicle was traveling north on Hawthorne Boulevard on Blackhorse Road when it crashed. The vehicle suffered major damage.”
“The driver and sole occupant was identified as the PGA golfer, Eldrick ‘Tiger’ Woods,” officials confirmed.
“Mr. Woods was removed from the wreckage with the ‘jaws of life’ by the Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, and then transported to a local hospital by ambulance to treat the injuries.”
It is not clear what caused the accident. The cops are investigating.
Tiger, 45, was in the area for his annual Genesis Invitational golf tournament at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades.
Just this week, he took pictures with stars like David Spade and Dwyane Wade – and announced his recent back surgery could keep you out of the Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia.
It is not the first time that Tiger Woods has been in a high-profile car accident – he crashed his SUV in a 2009 incident at his Florida home.
In 2017, he was arrested after the police found him passed out behind the wheel of his car. Tiger said he had taken prescription drugs before the accident and did not realize the effect the drugs would have on him.
