Tiger Woods ‘in a good mood’ after injury follow-up procedures

LOS ANGELES – Tiger Woods is “recovering and in a good mood” after follow-up procedures for injuries sustained in a car accident that left the golfer with serious leg injuries, his officials said on Friday.

The procedures were successful, he said a tweet from TGR Ventures, the organization founded by Woods, posted to the golfer’s account.

“Tiger and his family want to thank everyone for the wonderful support and messages they have received in the past few days,” said the statement.

Woods, 45, had broken bones in his leg and other injuries in the accident on Tuesday morning near Rancho Palos Verdes, a city in southwest Los Angeles County.

A rod was placed on his leg and pins and screws were used to stabilize injuries to his foot and ankle, said the chief medical officer at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Woods was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
