'TI & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle' stops production after allegations of sexual abuse

Fresh from its renewal for another season, the VH1 reality show TI and Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle suspended filming after allegations of sexual assault against the show’s main couple, Clifford “TI” Harris and Tameka “Tiny” Harris, came to light.

In January, Sabrina Peterson accused TI of keeping her at gunpoint in a previous altercation. Peterson also shared a flurry of anonymous confessions about his story on Instagram, where more than 30 additional women later performed, sharing similar stories of abuse by Harris and his wife, including acts of trafficking, drugs and coercion.

In a statement to Advertising panel, the couple says they “emphatically deny in the most vehement way possible the blatantly terrible accusations being made”. The Harris also declare that they have disagreed with the main prosecutor “for more than a decade” and that legal action will take place if she fails to close her allegations.

“We are aware of the allegations and, although they are unrelated to our program, we contacted TI and Tameka Harris, as well as local and state officials,” an MTV Entertainment spokesman said in a statement to Deadline. “Given the seriousness of the complaints, we decided to suspend production for more information.”

The decision to stop filming was considered a consensual agreement between the couple and MTV Entertainment. The show’s fourth season was scheduled to debut in the spring and follow the Harris duo during the pandemic, when they approached their 10th birthday and settled in their new roles as grandparents. Its inner circle of celebrities – Monica, Letoya Luckett and Toya Wright – would also return for the next season.
