TI and Tiny respond to new allegations of sexual assault

Steve Sadow, lawyer for TI and Tiny, provided a statement on behalf of Harrises to Advertising panel on Monday (April 5): “The Harris are still waiting for the accusers to reveal themselves publicly. By continuing to hide behind anonymous allegations, the unidentified accusers effectively become unreliable and untrustworthy. We say: Leave the light to shine their identities so that we can try to refute these crude accusations.

In February, The New York Times reported that Blackburn was seeking a criminal investigation and approached law enforcement officials in Georgia and California on behalf of 11 people, claiming that they were victims of the couple or their entourage. The alleged incidents occurred between 2005 and 2018 and were described as cases of “sexual abuse, forced ingestion of illegal narcotics, kidnapping, terrorist threats and false imprisonment”, as well as non-sexual intimidation, assault and harassment, said Blackburn.

Earlier that month, the VH1 reality show, TI and Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle, suspended production after the initial sexual abuse charges in January, when Sabrina Peterson accused TI on Instagram of putting a gun to her head and also posted in her Instagram story more than 30 charges from other women who claimed TI and Tiny fed them with forced drugs and then had sex with them.

A spokesman for TI and Tiny responded to allegations of sexual abuse in a joint statement to Advertising panel at the time. “Mr. and Mrs. Harris want to be on the record and, most importantly, want the public to know that they emphatically deny in the most vehement way possible the blatantly terrible accusations made against them by Sabrina Peterson,” said the joint statement. “The Harris have had difficulties with this woman for more than a decade. They are taking this matter very seriously and, if these allegations are not over, they will take appropriate legal action.”

Peterson filed a defamation suit against TI and Tiny on March 1, alleging that TI threatened her with a gun and then denied it. She is suing for defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional imposition of emotional suffering, among other causes of action.
