Three injured Wichita policemen

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Update on Saturday, February 27, 2021: Around 4:00 pm on Saturday, three Wichita police officers were dispatched to block 1400 in San Francisco, to verify a residence.

Police chief Gordon Ramsay said that when the police arrived at the residence, they noticed that several windows had been broken into. When the police entered the house, some type of shot or explosion was fired.

Ramsay said the three policemen were injured and were taken to hospitals in the area. One with serious injuries, but in stable condition. And two with minor injuries.

Police say they do not know exactly what caused the incident, but the bomb squad and combat teams are investigating.

The immediate houses were evacuated as a precaution.

Ramsay says it is not known if anyone remains at home. The police remain on the scene. We will continue to update this story with new information.

Saturday, February 27, 2021: Three Wichita police officers were injured in the incident in San Francisco’s 1400 block.

The three policemen were transported to a local hospital, two with minor injuries and one in serious but stable condition.
