Syracuse, NY – More than 4,000 consultations were still available this afternoon for the new Covid-19 unique vaccine at the New York state fairgrounds.
Registration for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine began at 8 am today. For now, calls are available from 10 pm to 6 am, from Sunday to Tuesday morning. The application process has some bugs, which we will explain below.
The great advantage of the Johnson & Johnson injection, marketed under the name of Janssen, is that it is ready and ready. The other vaccines on the market, manufactured by Moderna and Pfizer, require two injections each. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is slightly less effective, but experts say it offers strong protection against illness from coronavirus.
In addition, you can photograph Janssen much earlier on the fairgrounds. There is no appointment for appointments until April 2 for the other vaccine offered there, made by Pfizer. This is offered from 8 am to 7 pm
Doctors say the best vaccine is the first vaccine you can get.
“They have been shown to be safe and they all have a significant amount of effectiveness,” said Dr. Stephen Thomas, head of the infectious disease division at Upstate Medical University.
You still need to fall into one of the eligible categories to receive any of the vaccines. These categories include rescuers, corrections and health professionals, anyone over 65 and anyone with an underlying condition, such as high blood pressure, obesity and diabetes.
Signing up for Janssen’s photo is a little tricky. After logging in to the state registration website and entering basic information such as your birthday and zip code, you click on the dark blue box “Find Providers”. There are two scheduling links at the fair; none of them indicate which one is for Johnson & Johnson. You must click on the second link “schedule your appointment”, the one with the hours of the night appointments.
To sign up for the unique Johnson & Johnson photo at the fairgrounds, be sure to click on the second “schedule your appointment” link under the “10:00 pm – 6:00 am” banner.
The list of appointment times that appears is a bit counterintuitive. It starts with the hours from 12:01 am to 6 am, then jumps abruptly to hours from 10 pm to midnight.
The state Department of Health has decided to schedule all Janssen vaccine appointments at night to avoid any confusion about which vaccine people will receive when they show up.
Appointments for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at the state fairgrounds are listed by calendar day, so they start right after midnight and go until 6 am before jumping into the evening hours. (Red line added for emphasis.)
Here are the time slots now available for Janssen photos. They are constantly being grabbed; from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm today, the number of open places fell from around 6,500 to 4,100.
Sunday, March 7: 12:01 pm to 4:30 am
Monday, March 8: 12:15 pm to 5:30 am and 10:30 pm to midnight.
Tuesday, March 9: 12:15 pm to 5:30 am
Governor Andrew Cuomo said this week that the night shift is likely to be temporary and there may be a gap in Johnson & Johnson’s availability until the state receives more doses.
