The PlayStation 5 is notoriously impossible to find. But that did not stop a company from plating one of the consoles with 20 kilograms of 18 carat gold. That’s right, a solid gold PS5.
The audacious game console is being created by the Russian luxury company Caviar, best known for making sophisticated gold-plated iPhones. In line with its previous work, the company plans to create the rare “Golden Rock” PS5 with a rock-textured exterior that tries to mimic the feel of gold ore.
According to the company’s website, this unit will be the only one of its kind.
“[The] Gold PS5 will be assembled from eight sheets, cast in solid gold. About 20 kilograms of gold were used to create it. This is a true masterpiece of jewelry, ”says the website. “The inspiration for the designers was the unique geometry of the gold ore and the beautiful and graceful contours of the rock. That is why the console was named Golden Rock. “
It is unclear how long it will take Caviar jewelers to complete the rare console. At the current price of a kilogram of 18 carat gold at $ 45,000, this PlayStation can be worth close to a million dollars. But, instead of listing the price, Caviar provides a phone number on its website for any incredibly wealthy and interested buyer who can really afford this luxury item.
Unfortunately, I don’t think my $ 600 check will cover this.
