A Wisconsin pharmacist was arrested after it was discovered that a hospital employee deliberately blew hundreds of doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to a report.
Although the authorities did not name the suspect, records show that a licensed pharmacist, Steven Brandenburg, 46, was taken into custody on Thursday at the Ozaukee County Jail, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
Bradenburg – who looks grumpy in his photograph – was reportedly arrested on preliminary charges of criminal offenses, property damage and reckless security risk, but it is not clear whether his charges relate to sabotaged vaccines at the Aurora Medical Center.
However, the police had previously announced similar charges against an unidentified pharmacist on Thursday and confirmed his arrest in the case, but did not disclose the man’s identity “until formal notice of the charges”.
The hospital said it fired the unidentified worker on Wednesday after he allegedly admitted to intentionally removing 57 vials of Modern vaccine from a hospital refrigerator, rendering them useless.
