Since the world lost Steve Irwin in 2006, we are happy to see his family continue to champion the incredible legacy of wildlife conservation he left behind. Their sons Bindi and Robert Irwin took on bigger roles as they grew up alongside their mother Terri at their famous Australian zoo. Fans can catch a glimpse of the incredible work that the Irwin family participates in daily on their show Damn it! It’s the Irwin, and we look forward to the next third season of Discovery +. Fortunately for us, we finally took a look at what’s in store for the February premiere – and between Bindi’s pregnancy reveal and her sad tribute to the late father Steve, we’re thrilled.
“2020 was a hurricane for all of us,” says Bindi at the beginning of the video, via People . Due to the pandemic, her beloved zoo was forced to close, which Terri admits is the biggest challenge her family has faced since her husband’s death.

“We try to remain positive and hopeful, as if everything is fine, but I really want us to be open,” a choked Bindi said to the camera.

At one point in the clip, the screen panned over a speech that Bindi says she was giving while holding back tears: “We will continue to follow Daddy’s steps and make sure that everything he lived and died for continues.”

Bindi kept her father’s memory alive in everything she does, from her social media posts to her passion for wildlife – so it makes perfect sense that she feels more connected to her father when she’s around the animals he loved so much . Fortunately, she has a family who shares her passion and supports her every step of the way.
At the end of the clip, we heard Bindi happily announce her pregnancy to her family alongside her husband Chandler Powell, and we heard his mother say that Steve “would be proud to have survived this”.
We totally agree that Steve would be very proud of his strong family and we can’t wait to see the healthy content that Irwin will share with us this season!
