This Metroid set can be officially reviewed by LEGO with your votes

Thanks to the recent Super Mario range, the official Nintendo LEGO is finally one thing, but designs made by fans who want to get LEGO’s attention remain as popular as ever.

LEGO Ideas, a website where fans can submit their own creations, has helped LEGO builders to get designs based on Zelda, Sonic and even Untitled Goose Game considered for official release. Now, support is growing for another fan-made project, this time based on none other than Metroid.

Including a custom Samus Minifigure and its iconic Gunship, the set comes with adjustable parts that let you relive the action of the games. You can remove the windshield to access the cockpit, adjust the cushions at the bottom to “land” the ship, and even open a secret door to launch Samus as a Morph Ball.

As always with these Ideas projects, this creation needs to collect 10,000 votes to be considered by the LEGO team. At the time of this writing, it was just over 4,800, so going over the half line seems quite doable.
