Like it or tease, we will wear masks for a long time. Technology and gadgets for the coronavirus era are appearing everywhere CES 2021, a fully digital version of the annual technology fair, which includes products with the aim of reducing friction around the use of the mask.
A nice example is the MaskFone from Binatone. It’s a $ 50 washable N95 mask (£ 50, AU $ 65) with an internal Bluetooth headset, allowing you to talk to people on the phone without a voice muffled by the mask.

The headphones are attached to a cable clip that attaches to your ears and there are buttons to play, pause and control the volume on the mask itself. The mask also has integration with Siri and Amazon, so you can play music with voice controls.
Binatone says the Bluetooth headset will last 12 hours. So yes, it means that you will have to reload your mask.
It is one of many devices exhibited at CES adapted for the life of the COVID-19. LG showed its line of air purifiers, which included a battery powered mask with an internal purifier, as well as a portable Puriview Mini purifier that you can take with you anywhere – if you like that sort of thing. Existing products have also been updated, including LG’s new InstaView refrigerator, which opens with a voice command and disinfects the water with ultraviolet rays.
