MERCER COUNTY, NJ – New Jersey has expanded the number of publicly listed COVID-19 vaccination sites, and the state continues to announce new locations in Mercer County and elsewhere (see the list of county vaccine locations below).
Health commissioner Judith Persichilli said the state plans to increase the number of vaccination sites to more than 300. State officials said the goal is to vaccinate 70% of the adult population by spring.
Governor Phil Murphy also announced that the state has just passed 200,000 vaccinations across the state. He also announced that New Jersey has created a county-by-county vaccine center that reports the number of immunizations across the state.
“We are working strategically and efficiently to vaccinate our top health care professionals, police and firefighters and residents and employees of long-term care centers,” he said.
Health officials said that not all sites are publicly listed because some are not open to the public, such as prisons and psychiatric hospitals.
Persichilli said New Jersey does not currently have much vaccine available, but she hopes that will change soon. Biden’s next presidential administration said it plans to greatly expand the number of vaccine doses available to the American public.

Persichilli said the state administered at least 36% of the allocated vaccine doses. Hospitals administered vaccines to at least 50% of their health care professionals.
His hope is to continue to expand the number of “megacities” in convention centers and large spaces, with the goal of receiving 1,000 vaccinated people a day.
