According to the new federal guidelines, teachers and other school staff members are now eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine and there are several locations in Florida where they can get the vaccines.
Under the new federal vaccine eligibility, President Joe Biden is pushing for people who work with children to be vaccinated by the end of March.
An executive order from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis limits the vaccine to teachers aged 50 and over who work from kindergarten through 12th grade, but federal guidelines allow daycare, preschool teachers and educators in high schools. elementary, middle and high school are vaccinated without age limit.

Below is a list of locations that offer the vaccine to these individuals according to federal guidelines.
CVS
According to the CVS website, 24 pharmacies in Florida can provide injections. Central Florida locations include Daytona Beach, Haines City and Lakeland. Appointments can be made by clicking or tapping here.
The site now lists vacancies for teachers and elementary and high school staff, day care centers and preschoolers.
“We align with the updated guidelines of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, making pre-K appointments available through 12 educators and daycare workers and staff in all 17 states where we currently offer COVID-19 vaccines,” said a spokesman CVS spokesperson.
Publix
Beginning March 4, all day care centers, teachers and school staff in Florida will be eligible to make an appointment at Publix pharmacies across the state. Appointments are made available through the online reservation system at publix.com/covidvaccine every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning, as long as the grocery store owner continues to receive vaccine doses from the state and federal governments.

Walmart
Walmart also changed its website to include elementary and high school teachers and employees, day care centers and preschoolers, without age restrictions.
The company released the following statement about the change:
“We are going to administer vaccines to those eligible, as determined by the state and federal governments. As patient eligibility requirements for COVID-19 vaccines expand, we will update our internal processes and online scheduling system to reflect these changes as soon as possible. “

Winn-Dixie
Winn-Dixie has also expanded its vaccine eligibility requirements to include elementary and high school educators and child care workers of all ages and clinically vulnerable individuals.

Appointments and proof of eligibility are required for anyone who wants to be vaccinated, according to the company. Appointments can be made here.
FEMA vaccination center at Valencia College
The federally administered vaccine site at 1800 South Kirkman Road in Orlando at the Valencia College West Campus is offering vaccines to the workers mentioned above, including elementary and high school teachers, daycare workers and other school staff.
Those who are eligible to receive the vaccine can pre-register by clicking or tapping here; however, guided tours are also accepted.
The site will operate from 7 am to 7 pm every day and should remain open for at least eight weeks, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Orange County Convention Center

All K-12 educators and child caregivers can now be vaccinated at the Orange County Convention Center, according to the county’s website.
The vaccine site at the Orange County Convention Center has the resources to offer up to 3,000 vaccines per day and vaccinations are done by appointment only. Appointments can be made here.
