This is what Pixel 5 underwater photos look like [Gallery]

This week, as part of the March Pixel Feature Drop, Google launched a deep integration between Pixel phones and a water-ready photo case. Now, Google has shared a first look at some underwater life photos taken on the Pixel 5.

Thanks to the new Dive Case Connector app, now it’s easier than ever to take photos with the Google Camera app on your Pixel phone with the controls included in Kraken Sports underwater photo cases.

The promise of taking underwater photos looks incredible, especially as beaches and other public areas are scheduled to reopen properly this year in many areas. However, not everyone is willing to spend more than $ 300 for a case just with Google’s guarantee that the results are worth it.

To help persuade potential buyers, Made by Google has taken to Twitter to share some examples of what exactly to expect from photos taken with a Pixel 5 underwater.

Although the images are nowhere near full resolution, the results are still absolutely impressive, considering they were taken with a smartphone instead of any special camera equipment.

As noted in the footnote to each image, the underwater photos on display today were all taken with the Pixel 5 using the universal Kraken KRH03 or KRH04 case. That said, the cover should fit on any Pixel smartphone, and the connection app works with all Pixel smartphones running Android 11 or later, including the Pixel 2.

What do you think of these preliminary photos of the Pixel Series’ newfound ability to take clear underwater photos safely and easily? Would you buy a Kraken box? Let us know in the comments.
