This is a well thought out rendering of a Honda S2000 revival

Ah, the Honda S2000. The tail of the 1960s Honda roadster line is the Mazda MX-5’s biggest rival. Fans of the open two-seater car have been clamoring for a successor since the end of its production in 2009, but Honda ignored the orders – until a recent revival rumor surfaced last year.

With that said, Behance artist Somak Biswas imagines the return of the S2000 through a series of fictional representations of modern times.

First, Biswas identified the S2000 revival as a rival to the BMW Z4 and Porsche 718 Boxster. A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-bowl mill resides on the hood, probably coming from the Honda Civic Type R, in line with the recent rumor.

In terms of design, Biswas’ S2000 goes back to the previous model with its long hood, simple lines and rigid stance. However, it follows the new design language seen in the 2022 Honda Civic Prototype that was unveiled in November, mainly in the headlights, lower grille and front entrances. Mr Biswas even imagined a more aggressive S2000 Type R, with a rear wing and skirts with red accents.

Inside, the imaginary S2000 comes with three main elements. ONE Mood Bar, which flanks the panel and combines a sound bar, ambient lighting and ventilation openings, aim to stimulate sensation, hearing and vision. The infotainment system, on the other hand, was designed to have an adjustable position for better visibility and reach. Finally, Biswas also imagines that the center console has a staggered shape – a design inspired by the Japanese pagodas.

Biswas’ view of the S2000 revival seems cool, to say the least, with the elements added to the well thought out renderings, giving validity to the artist’s imagination. But do you think Honda should consider creating the resurrected S2000 after this project? Let us know your opinion in the comments section below.
