Zelda: Breath of the Wild it has remained one of the most popular games on the Switch, despite being released early in the console’s life in 2017. Since its launch, fans have spent countless hours trying to discover all its secrets and master the strategies that would allow them accelerate – perform it in new and interesting ways.

To that end, one of the most sought-after secrets is the ability to access certain items earlier or retain items in a ‘New Game +’ situation – such as the Arc of Light, which is only available during the boss’s final battle. With an attack power of 100, infinite ammo and infinite durability, it’s one of the best weapons in the game – but when you defeat Dark Beast Ganon, the game is over and you lose access to it – until now, of course.

Surprisingly, this is now possible thanks to the discovery of the “Memory storage” flaw. This particular flaw was found by YouTuber LegendofLinkk recently and requires the player to ‘cheat’ the game to transport data between saved files.

It is also a very complicated failure to activate, but the hard work is worth it, as it means that you can start a New Game + with items and equipment that you normally would not have access to since the beginning of the adventure, like the Sword Master or the glider . As you can obtain these items from the beginning, this failure will have massive ramifications on the way people run Breath of the Wild, as failures are considered fair game.

Gaming Reinvented has created a video tutorial that explains the whole process and, if you visit the site, you will find a step by step guide on how to do this. It’s not easy, so consider yourself warned – and there’s always a chance that Nintendo will find a way to fix this with an update. If you did it anyway, let us know with a comment.
