This Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson Rumor would be the patriots’ nightmare

The New England Patriots benefited from playing at AFC East – a division that Tom Brady ruled and all other callers were a laughing stock – for two decades.

We already know that one of those aspects has come to an end, and now the Patriots may be looking at the repercussions of their longstanding domination. After all, when it ends, it ends badly.

And at least an NFL copywriter could see that on the horizon very soon.

Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal wrote on Sunday how he could imagine a scenario in which the current Houston Texans quarterback, Deshaun Watson, lands with the Miami Dolphins and Russel Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks is negotiated with the New York Jets.

Yes Watson and Wilson at AFC East.

Take a look at an excerpt of what Bedard published for the Boston Sports Journal:

As we reported, the Jets are not at the top of Watson’s list and he has a no-trade clause so he can dictate where he is going. And I am willing to bet that Russell Wilson and his brand would love to negotiate with the Jets (they are on their list with the Dolphins, Saints, Raiders and Bears) and the New York media market.

I would put the Dolphins in the driver’s seat for Watson, and they can offer Tua Tagovailoa, two first-round choices from 2021 (third and 18th), two second-round choices and possibly another first in 2022 (the jets may offer a similar package with Sam Darnold).

There is a possibility that we will enter the 2021 season with this situation of the QB in East AFC:

Bills: Josh Allen (if you’re a believer, I’m not until he does it again, with fans in the stands).
Dolphins: Deshaun Watson.
Jets: Russell Wilson (even if it doesn’t, it could be Zach Wilson or No. 2 draft QB du jour).
Patriots: Who the hell knows?

Yes, especially based on the Patriots’ current quarterback situation (or lack thereof), that would be bad. Very bad.

Watson, as you have certainly heard, has requested a swap from Houston and is supposed to be out of the 2021 season if it is not granted. Simply put, things in Houston are in complete disarray.

Wilson, in Seattle, however, does not seem to be so steadfast in his business demands, yet his dissatisfaction with the organization has been reported.
