The Cleveland Cavaliers decided in February that it is enough. Andre Drummond is no longer part of the team’s rotation after the team pledged to build around Jarrett Allen as their future at the center. Drummond is one of the main names to be noted in rumors about NBA negotiations.

Washington is once again one of the worst teams in the league. At 13-19, the Wizards are close to the basement in the East. In the off-season, they made headlines when they acquired Russell Westbrook from the Houston Rockets in exchange for John Wall.

So far, the change has not worked. Both Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal are presenting large individual numbers, but that has not translated into success because of their lack of depth, especially on the attacking court. This is where a player like Drummond would be beneficial.

Drummond was originally sent to Cleveland from the Detroit Pistons before the end of last season. The two sides were originally involved in extension talks, but stopped during the quarantine and have not yet started.

This means that the Cavaliers could negotiate Drummond in the last year of their contract. Drummond and Kevin Love were two big names featured in NBA rumors up to this point in the season. As we approach the NBA All-Star break, Cleveland may have something up its sleeve.

It will be a story to keep an eye on. Here is a deal that could take Drummond to Washington this season.
