Entering the 2020-21 NBA season, the Portland Trail Blazers had high expectations and were expected to be a team competing for the championship at the Western Conference. Although they still have the potential to be a great team and potentially make a run in the postseason, the injuries hurt their chances of success early in the season.

Zach Collins is expected to be out this year due to an ankle injury, CJ McCollum is still out with a broken foot, and center-back Jusef Nurkic is out for a few more weeks with a broken wrist. This team simply cannot stop injuries this year, which led to a record 16-10 this time of year.

Because of all their problems on the attacking court, Portland currently occupies 16th place in the NBA in rebounds and may try to add another player on the attacking court near the NBA’s negotiation deadline. Enes Kanter has been great for the Blazers, taking on a bigger role with Nurkic out, but they will need another reliable option for production.

Although costly, Andre Drummond could be a perfect fit in Portland alongside Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. Does this team need immediate production if they want to be real contenders for the title this season and, by acquiring the old All-Star center, would they greatly improve their chances of winning a title?

So, how can Portland do this trade? Let’s take a look at what a potential Cavaliers and Blazers deal involving Andre Drummond would look like.
