Massachusetts-based Bain & Company was named the best company to work for in 2021, according to Glassdoor.
Glassdoor’s list of the Best Companies to Work For in 2021 gave the management consulting firm a rating of 4.6 out of 5, while its employees praised the company for its response to the coronavirus pandemic and protests against racial injustice.
“They came up with a very thoughtful COVID response plan and really improved their game on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion after the recent events in the United States,” said a partner at Bain & Company based in Chicago.
Likewise, a Boston employee praised the company’s culture, saying he has never felt so “included, invested and supported in a company”.
This marks the fifth time that Bain & Company came in first. It is also just one of three other employers who have made it onto the list every year for more than a decade.
This year’s top 100 employers cover a wide range of sectors, from technology, healthcare, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals to retail, travel and tourism and finance. However, most notably, six biotech and pharmaceutical employers made the list this year. This includes Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Eli Lilly and Co., which are rushing to develop treatments to eradicate the coronavirus pandemic.

In-N-Out Burger came in third, while HubSpot, a Massachusetts-based software company, came in fourth. McKinsey & Company came in 5th.
