Sony’s Play at Home 2021 program has just launched a new batch of 9 free PS4 / PS5 games that anyone can download for free, without the need for a PlayStation Plus subscription.
If you are looking forward to a good indie or virtual reality game, you will be in for a surprise. From now until April 22 at 23:59 PT, the following games are available for free download from PlayStation Store, through the ‘Play at Home’ tab: The Witness, Abzu, Enter the Gungeon, Rez Infinite (VR optional) ), Subnautica, Astro Bot (VR), Moss (VR), Thumper (VR) and Paper Beast (VR) rescue mission.
The above list of free PS4 games brings a good deal of variety, whether you’re looking for a mentally challenging puzzle game (looking at you, The Witness) or something to scare you to the point (our review of Subnautica called of “a mandatory game for 2018”, but also said it is “a nightmare”).
What, don’t you want to be confused OR terrified? Damn, demanding crowd. Well, you also have Rez Infinite, the psychedelic sniper on-rails that we awarded 5/5 stars in 2016, the much more meditative high-seas adventure Abzu, or “the most adorable bullet shooter in the world” Enter the Gungeon.
It really looks like you can’t go wrong with any of these free games (they are free, In the end). I played Moss a lot and found it to be an enchanting virtual reality game that won’t make you dizzy like many other virtual reality games. And remember, as there is no subscription required, PS4 and PS5 players can download any of the above games forever. Better get it for free while you still can.
If that weren’t enough, here are the 25 best free games you can play now.
