Obama said he hoped there would be forgiveness
Michelle Obama is sharing its hopes for reconciliation between Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and the British Royal Family after the couple’s explosive interview.
The beloved former first lady recently appeared in Access Hollywood for a meeting with Mario Lopez to discuss their new show cooking series on Netflix Waffles + Mochi. During the discussion, she shared her thoughts on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who also signed a contract with the streaming giant to produce documentaries.

However, last week, Meghan and Harry were the only ones in front of the camera as they detailed for Oprah Winfrey why they retreated as senior royalty officials in the Oprah with Meghan and Harry: a CBS primetime special. Obama shared his thoughts on the future of the couple, who are also expecting their second son, a daughter, in the summer.
“My hope is that when I think about what they are going through, I think about the importance of the family and I just pray that there will be forgiveness, clarity, love and determination at some point,” said Obama. “Because there is nothing more important than the family.”
Obama had already collaborated with Meghan in 2019, when the Duchess of Sussex interviewed Obama, 57, to British Voguand. Since that time, Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36, shocked the world last January, when they left the UK and moved to California.
Meghan and Harry told Winfrey during the interview that the monarchy did not support the pair. Meghan shared that she had suicidal ideation, but did not receive help from the institution.
