Intel posted an enigmatic teaser on Twitter this morning, it seems to suggest that the chip maker is preparing to release more details about its long-awaited gaming video card, the Xe HPG.

What information is nobody you know, but Intel has been dropping crumbs on the X and HPG for several months. Last August, Intel said its gaming GPU could be launched in 2021, and during its presentation at CES 2021, the company mentioned that it found a way to use an integrated GPU and a discrete onethe GPU at the same time.

Intel did not specify whether this would be a feature only for its graphics cards and processors, or if it would be compatible with Nvidia and AMD cards, but it is clearly something that the company is working onn. It is possible that we could hear more about the feature during the next Intel webcast on March 23. Or perhaps the revelation date is March 26.

Why March 26? According Wccftech, there is a binary code in the video that, if translated correctly, points to a hidden code treasure hunt site. “Welcome to the Xe HPG Scavenger Hunt” is prominently displayed in a small black box on the website. There is a day March 26 at 9am PST “release date” and a note for people to come back that day and enter their “secret code”. The code looks like were broken by a Twitter user.

There is no other information on how to find this secret code. It is possible that it is linked to the March 23 webcast, but it does not seem likely at this time. Like most treasure hunts, there are a number of hidden objects and puzzles to solve before you reveal the mystery in the end, or break free from the escape room; Gizmodo turned to Intel for tips, but has yet to receive a response

Intel officially launched its first Xe desktop GPU in January. However, these are mainly for cheap desktops, not games, and most cards are included in pre-assembled PCs, rather than stand-alone, ready-to-use items. The Xe HPG should be more of a mid-range card and competitively priced compared to Nvidia and AMD.

So, Intel is preparing to something, but is clearly trying to create a mystery to increase the excitement. Consider us excited.
