Weeknd is sporting a drastically different look.
On Tuesday, the 30-year-old musician released a music video to accompany the song “Save Your Tears” from his acclaimed album “After Hours”.
In the video, the singer – born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye – can be seen with drastic facial changes that make him almost unrecognizable.
Viewers will notice that The Weeknd’s cheekbones, chin and lips have become more prominent and his nose crooked, while scars are also visible on his cheeks and the sides of his face.

Although they seem convincing, the changes are simply prostheses, applied by Mike Marino, from Prosthetic Renaissance, who explained on Instagram that it was simply “strange plastic surgery makeup”.
“You could have asked me why I broke your heart / You could have told me that you fell apart,” sings Weeknd. “But you passed me by like I wasn’t there / And you just pretended you didn’t care.”
In the chorus, he begs for reconciliation.
“I don’t know why I run away / I’ll make you cry when I run away / Take me back because I want to stay / Save your tears for another / Save your tears for another day / Save your tears for another day.”

Weeknd also wore a flashy red Michael Jackson-style jacket for the video, as he dances around a masked-themed event in a dark, spooky ballroom.
At one point in the video, The Weeknd hides a revolver in his back and the lights go out. When the lights go on, a woman is aiming the gun at the musician’s head.
He evidently survived the ordeal, as he is seen next dancing around the room, imitating shooting people with the gun.

To finish the video, the musician points the gun at his head and shoots, but only red and white confetti comes out – and the crowd applauds.

The star, who will serve as this year’s Super Bowl halftime entertainment, was seen on several awards shows last year looking bruised and bloody at the VMAs and wearing facial bandages at the AMAs. The Renaissance Prosthesis was also behind these looks, according to Harper’s Bazaar.
