The Watt brothers sculpt an outdoor ice bath and share photos of relaxing experiences

Former Houston Texans defender JJ Watt apparently needed some time to calm down in the middle of a busy week that began when the NFL star announced on Monday that he would join the Arizona Cardinals.

The NFL’s three-time Defensive Player of the Year met with his brothers TJ Watt and Derek Watt – both from the Pittsburgh Steelers – while the trio partially submerged themselves in a makeshift ice bath outdoors, which they sculpted into a body of frozen water.

The brothers, who grew up in Wisconsin, seemed indifferent to the likely cold temperatures in the photos they posted on Twitter on Thursday about the unique post-workout recovery method.

JJ Watt said he originally tried to use a chainsaw to create the recovery bath. When that didn’t work, they ended up using shovels and pure labor to open a hole in the ice.

“This is so Wisconsin,” wrote the official Twitter account of the American football team Washington Badgers. All three brothers played football at Big Ten University.

Social media users reacted quickly to the photos.

“I’m from Wisconsin and I’ve never seen anyone do that! Those Watt boys are crazy!” a user replied

“Damn !! How long did you manage to stay in the cold water before jumping?” another asked.

“You could literally have done that in Buffalo,” replied another user, apparently upset that Watt had decided to join the Cardinals instead of the Buffalo Bills.
