The WandaVision TV spot welcomes you to a new era

A new promotion for Disney + WandaVision promises the start of a visionary era in the Marvel cinematic universe.

A New Year’s promotion for the next Disney + drama WandaVision promises the start of a new visionary era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The promotion focuses on the seemingly perfect suburban life of Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany). However, not everything is as it seems, as the two begin to experience reality-distorting interactions with their neighbors and surroundings. The trailer also offers a new scene of a helicopter flying through a sky that appears to be enveloped by Wanda’s red energy.

New details about WandaVision were slowly released, although the plot remains a mystery. A black and white image of Wanda showed how the show will incorporate tropes of television’s Golden Age, as a couple sleeping in separate rooms – a staple in comedies like I I love Lucy and The Dick Van Dyke Show. The series pilot was also filmed in front of a live audience in the studio, a tribute to sitcoms with multiple cameras.

WandaVision is one of the many MCU programs that Disney + has in the pipeline. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was due to start programming in August, but due to coronavirus delays, it was postponed to March 2021. Other ongoing series include Loki, Hawkeye, Mrs. Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Knight. In the most recent presentation of Disney Investor Day, House of Mouse also announced that projects based on Secret invasion, Ironheart and Armor Wars are in development, as well as a collection of shorts following Baby Groot entitled I Am Groot. Finally, the excited What if…? is scheduled to debut in the summer of 2021.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision starring Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes.
