The walking dead is targeting homophobia, as well as zombies.

Debuting last October, Beyond the world it was a variation aimed at teenagers The walking dead, following four teenagers who are among the first generation to grow up in a world inhabited by brain-eating monsters. Several adults join them during the trip, including ex-security officer Felix Carlucci (Nico Tortorella) and her boyfriend, Will Campbell, played by Broadway star Jelani Alladin.

On January 25, Alladin discussed the couple’s relationship in the Speak dead to me podcast, noting how much he appreciated the fact that the show’s writers approached the novel in a completely normal way. “It turns out that it was just two men who fell in love. There was no need to explain anything further. I love it The walking dead is presenting this: that LGBTQ relationships are nothing different from any other type of relationship. “

This interview sparked online trolls who criticized attempts by the LGBTQ + inclusion program. “I don’t like how each character simply has to have an interest in love. Oh, we can’t find a character for you, damn it, you’re gay with this guy. It’s so fake just to add emotional drama, ”wrote a YouTube commentator.

The walking dead The franchise – which has a strong track record of featuring LGBTQ + characters on its programs – wasted little time interfering and shutting down these trolls, posting its statement on Twitter the day after Alladin’s interview. And the fans are thrilled that they have spoken.
