
International travelers who come to the USA will have to obtain a negative COVID-19 test before boarding.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention passed a measure on Tuesday that will require all international travelers to get a negative result COVID-19 test before flying to the states. The order takes effect on January 26.
“Testing before and after the trip is a critical layer to delay the introduction and spread of COVID-19,” said the CDC in a statement. “This strategy is consistent with the current phase of the pandemic and more efficiently protects Americans’ health.”
All passengers entering the United States will need to obtain negative test results three days before flying or provide documentation to the airline that they recovered from COVID-19. If passengers do not provide, they will not be able to board.
“The test does not eliminate all risks,” said CDC director Robert R. Redfield in a statement, “but when combined with a period of stay at home and daily precautions like wearing masks and social distance, it can make the trip safer, healthier and more responsible for reducing the spread on airplanes, airports and destinations. ”
The measure comes when the most contagious coronavirus strains are emerging around the world inside places like the UK and the WE. Meanwhile, vaccination efforts are underway, as the The US struggles to combat the rise in COVID-19 cases. The US currently has two vaccines approved for COVID-19, Moderna and Pfizer, which are being administered across the country. Experts say it is essential to continue wearing a mask and practice social detachment until enough Americans are vaccinated, which will take several months.
