A leaked recording from Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey suggests that the company’s policy enforcement actions go far beyond banning President Trump.
Right-wing guerrilla media Project Veritas released a clip on Thursday given to them by an alleged Twitter “internal whistleblower” who secretly recorded Dorsey’s comments to the team.
“You should always feel free to express yourself in any form of demonstration that feels right,” said Dorsey in the clip.
Dorsey, who recently addressed the controversy over his company’s decision to permanently suspend the president, told the team at a virtual meeting that Twitter will do a “complete retro” that “will take some time”, but drew attention to the old accounts from the profile.

“We know that we are focused on an account now, but it will be much bigger than just one account and it will last much longer than just this day, this week and the next few weeks, and it goes beyond the inauguration,” said Dorsey. “So the focus is certainly on this account and how it relates to real-world violence. But also, we need to think a lot in the long term around how that dynamic develops over time. I don’t think it will disappear. anytime soon. “
Dorsey then referred to actions taken against QAnon conspiracy theorists as part of a recent purge of Twitter accounts, telling employees that it is part of a “much broader approach that we should examine and deepen”.
“You know, the United States is extremely divided. Our platform is showing this every day,” said Dorsey later. “And our role is to protect the integrity of this conversation and do what we can to ensure that no one is harmed based on that. And that is our focus.”

Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe provoked on Thursday that more Twitter leaks could occur, saying “more than a dozen people contacted us this week with video evidence inside Twitter.”
“Stay tuned,” O’Keefe told viewers. “They may be private companies, but they have more power than all three branches of government.”
A Twitter spokesman told Fox News: “The observations shown in the video were made to our more than 5,400 employees and are almost the same words that Jack shared in a recent Tweet topic offering context and reflections on our work to protect the conversation in recent weeks. ”
On Wednesday, Dorsey defended Twitter’s decision to permanently suspend President Trump’s account, saying it was the “right decision”.
He acknowledged, however, that these actions “fragment public conversation”, “divide us” and “limit the potential for enlightenment, redemption and learning”. He also admitted that his company’s power in “global public conversation” has set a “dangerous” precedent.
