The Toadette was apparently cut from Super Mario 3D World

You learn something new every day about your favorite games, and the latest revelations come to us from the game Super Mario 3D World. The game was recently released with Bowser’s Fury for the Nintendo Switch as a package, which made many people check the game for the first time and who might have slept in it, as well as others who remember it fondly and are revisiting it to put everything in the game. (What is the biggest back pain you can imagine for some of those green stars!) But a fun surprise was found in the game that revolves around the character Toadette.

As you might suspect, when it comes to anything from Nintendo, hackers and programmers have been reviewing the coding to see how it works, whether they can change anything and whether there are any hidden secrets in the game. For sure, an Australian programmer called Nickoloxx on Twitter I found something cool. It turns out that there is a code for Toadette to be a playable character in Super Mario 3D World. Here’s what they had to say, along with a recorded file of her preparing to enter the level.

So why was the character cut out of the game? We are literally just guessing here, but Toadette in other Mario Bros. titles. has extra jumping skills for your character. A little hybrid between what Luigi and Peach can do when they jump. Essentially, the character is a cheat for younger players in other games, to give them more airtime to collect things. Considering how many objects are hanging in the air and require some precise jumps, we are assuming that the character was cut, as having the Toadette would be the same as having the Leaf of Invincibility, only without invincibility. But considering the files are apparently there, it’s only a matter of time before someone hacks the game and programs it back using Toad’s design.
