A spokeswoman for the company told CNN that the products have already been removed from stores and from the Target.com website.
She said that no choking incidents were reported.
The recall covers about 299,000 overalls that went on sale between July 2019 and October 2020, the agency said. The overalls came in various styles, in sizes ranging from newborns to 12 months.
The agency received 16 reports of snap smashing, dropping or disappearing from overalls, including one report of scratches and another of a child being pinched.
There have been 27 reports of springs breaking or peeling off swimsuits, including a laceration.
About 181,000 bathing suits were collected. They were sold between December 2019 and October 2020 in sizes ranging from 12 months to 5T.
Customers who purchased the product can call Target Guest Relations at 800-440-0680 or return the products to a store for a refund.
