‘The Talk’ taking a hiatus after Sharon Osbourne’s defense of Piers Morgan

“The Talk” is entering a brief hiatus, Fox News found.

The CBS talk show canceled its episodes on Monday, March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, according to Deadline, to further investigate the heated conversation that took place last week, when the com – presenter Sharon Osbourne defended her friend Piers Morgan after he beat Meghan Markle for his revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“We are committed to a diverse, inclusive and respectful work environment,” CBS said in an earlier statement to Fox News. “All matters relating to Wednesday’s episode of ‘The Talk’ are currently under internal review.”

After Osbourne made his controversial comments, co-host Sheryl Underwood replied, “While you’re at your side, your friend, it looks like you’re giving validation or a safe haven to something he said is racist.”

Morgan quit her job at Britan’s ITV after getting an intense reaction by saying on the air that she didn’t believe Markle had suicidal ideation.

Osbourne explained that, although she disagrees with Morgan’s opinion, she supported his expression.

“He doesn’t want to understand how Meghan was treated as racism and then he says … ‘I don’t see it as racist – I don’t believe what she’s going through’ – it’s that white right, privilege that makes him racist with himself,” said Underwood. “So, if you are saying ‘I am with you’, how do you address people who say you are against racism?

Co-host Elaine Welteroth said it would have been an opportunity for Osbourne to “stand up for anti-racism”.

“When we give passes or give space to people who are saying harmful and harmful things, what we are doing is [permitting] “said the former editor of the magazine.” And I think that’s what people are reacting to. “

Osbourne then asked, “So, if I like Piers and he’s seen as a racist, am I a racist? Is that what you’re saying?”

After the episode aired, Osbourne apologized in Twitter for her comments and “any person of color that I have offended and / or anyone who is confused or disappointed by what I said.”

She said she was “in a panic, she was surprised [and] became defensive. “

“There are very few things that hurt my heart more than racism, so feeling associated with it left me fast! I am not perfect, I am still learning like the rest of us and will continue to learn, listen and do better,” Osbourne statement continued.
