Dr. Fauci going to sleep well tonight – Florida officials determined that the Super Bowl LV was NOT an access point for COVID-19 … with only 53 confirmed cases reported in the weeks after the game.
The Hillsborough County Health Department in Florida released its preliminary report on the Super Bowl-related COVID-19 cases on Wednesday … with the chief epidemiologist Michael Wiese announcing case levels were only “slightly higher” compared to the rest of the state.
Wiese says the small peak is believed to be the result of house parties and meetings in restaurants and bars – NO fans in the game.
“Although we didn’t have much of what was directly associated with the Super Bowl, we know that the community kind of celebrated and got together in response to the events, which showed some increase in transmission over the next few weeks,” he said.

Super Bowl host committee chairman and CEO Rob Higgins says more than 280,000 fans and workers participated in the game and related activities … but only 1 in 4,700 participants reported a positive test for COVID-19.
In that same period, the health department. reported that 1 in 99 citizens in the county tested positive for COVID-19.
“Pure and simple, our collective job was to work together to mitigate risk, and the results shared today show that this is what happened,” said Higgins. “The Super Bowl was not a super propagator.”
Of course, there is obviously a chance that some fans have not been tested or have chosen not to reveal their positive tests … so accept this with a grain of salt.
