Dua Lipa looked at the stars of the past for her 2021 Grammy afterparty look.
The “Don’t Start Now” singer, 25, wore a variety of stunning looks from Atelier Versace on the red carpet and on stage for her “Levitating” performance at the Sunday night awards, and remained true to the same brand after showing .
At an after-party party hosted by her boyfriend Anwar Hadid, Lipa wore a butterfly-covered Versace chainmail minidress, an almost identical version of what Christina Aguilera had previously worn at the 2000 Grammy.
The singer “Genie in a Bottle”, 40 years old, took home the prize for Best Newcomer that night, a distinction won by Lipa in 2019.
At the 2021 show, Lipa was nominated for six awards, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and best Pop Solo Performance, but ended up returning home with only one: Best Pop Vocal Album for “Nostalgia do Futuro”.
The two pop stars are not the only celebrities who rocked Versace’s metal mesh dresses; Naomi Campbell wore a version in the 90s with her friend Kate Moss, and Kim Kardashian, Blake Lively and more have used modern versions of Gianni Versace’s original design from the same collection in recent years.
