The Stellaris Star Wars expansion will launch next month

We have had a lot of fun learning about the Stellaris: Nemesis expansion in the past few weeks. From building a bothan spy network to reliving that moment in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, the new DLC Stellaris is basically turning 4X space into a Star Wars game, and we’re here for that.

We’ll be even more here when Nemesis comes out next month, in April. The release date of the new expansion was revealed as part of the Paradox Insider event, which also featured announcements about Crusader Kings 3 and Surviving Mars.

Headlines include ‘becoming’ the ultimate crisis by creating planet-destroying superweapons. You can also be voted as the ‘guardian’, someone who has granted emergency powers to martial resources across the galaxy to try to stop this new galactic villain. You can then make a Palpatine and maintain those powers and create a galactic empire. As is tradition, there will be a free patch that will accompany the expansion. We are not 100% sure where the line will be drawn in terms of free and premium features.

We think the new spy system could be free in a basic form, but it is mentioned on the store page at the moment as a feature of the expansion itself, so we’ll keep you posted.
