The Washington State Department of Health says it is receiving 100,000 doses of vaccine from the federal government each week now, but that is still far from the 300,000 dose per week target, which is what is needed to achieve the state’s vaccinate 45,000 people a day. Washington is currently vaccinating about a third of that number a day.

The state says there are about 1.7 million people in Phase 1B, Level 1, so it could take months to complete. However, the next phases are opened before the previous phase is completed.

“We are limited by 100,000 doses per week,” said Michele Roberts, acting assistant secretary for the state Department of Health.

Roberts added that the limited offer means that, in some places, consultations have to be canceled as providers wait for more doses to arrive.

About 500,000 total doses of vaccine have been administered across the state. So far, most vaccines have been distributed in health clinics and hospitals.

The best way to ensure that you receive a vaccine when you are eligible is to sign up for FindYourPhaseWa.org or use the Department of Health list and map of eligible providers to know who to look for in your area.

Mass vaccination clinics are also being installed in each region. Four opened on Monday in eastern and southern Washington. The next sites will include Thurston, Kitsap and Whatcom counties.

“King, Pierce and Snohomish County have their own mass vaccination sites,” said Roberts.
