The Stadia version of Terraria is back in production after the developer reconciles with Google

Earlier this month, Terraria co-creator Andrew Spinks announced that his Re-Logic studio would cancel a version of Google Stadia. However, the developer announced today that the Stadia port is now back in development.

“As you may have noticed, we had a ton of problems starting the year due to the blocking of Redigit’s entire Google account in early January,” said Re-Logic Terraria forum post. “After a month of pressure (and with the immense support of our fans), Google finally got in touch and was able to provide a lot of transparency about the situation and restore access to all of our accounts.”

After publication, a Google spokesman confirmed the The Verge that a Stadia port for Terraria was currently in development.

On February 8, Spinks fired a series of tweets expressing frustration at not having access to Google accounts for weeks, which included losing access to the Gmail and Google Play account. Spinks first noticed that he lost access to his accounts around 16 January.

Re-Logic has not yet announced when Terraria will be released on Google Stadia, but the game in development is good news for fans of Google’s cloud gaming service. On Friday, two reports of Bloomberg and Wired shed light on some of Google’s flaws in building Stadia. And earlier this month, Google announced that it was closing its internal development studio.

February 26, 7:32 pm ET update: It included information from Google confirming that a port on Stadia’s Terraria is in development.
