- A hacker known for data mining says he obtained some Switch Pro specifications from Nintendo’s own firmware.
- The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch Pro console will feature an OLED screen, a new processor, better cooling and better battery life.
- The console will also allow 4K gaming when docked, as the dock itself will be powered by a different processor.
Some analysts looking at the coming years speculate that Nintendo will release the Switch Pro sometime in 2021, sooner or later. Some of these analysts made a mistake last year with similar predictions. But while Nintendo likes to dispel rumors about the Switch Pro from time to time, those rumors do exist.
A better version of the console that sold better than the PlayStation and Xbox last year should be in development, especially now that the PS5 and Xbox Series X have arrived. A new leak reveals details that were not presented in other recent Switch Pro rumors, including specifications that indicate that 4K games will be possible on the console.

A well-known console hacker and data miner who serves for SciresM found several clues about Switch Pro. According to the hacker, Nintendo has been working on the new model for up to two years. The firmware seems to indicate that the Switch Pro, code-named Aula, will support 4K games. The device would support portable and docked games and would run on a chip system (SoC) from Mariko. The chip will offer better cooling and battery life, according to the leak.
The Switch Pro tablet will have an OLED screen, which would be a significant update. It is unclear whether it will support 4K games in portable mode. The dock can swing a Realtek chip advertised as a “4K UHD multimedia SoC” that can allow 4K gaming when the console is docked.
This is the best Switch Pro leak we’ve had so far, although the information obtained from the firmware is far from giving us a complete view of the Switch Pro’s specifications.
Then there is also a leak from the Switch Pro that looks too good to be true. This is the following image that offers several details of the Switch Pro of an “internal document” rich in typos:

The image says that the Switch Pro will have 256 GB of storage, support 4K and will cost $ 399. A sample trailer is expected to arrive in mid-April, with the document also listing several supposed games for the Switch and Switch Pro.
If the release of Switch Pro is planned for the first half of this year, we will likely see more rumors soon from more reliable sources that Nintendo will likely refuse to entertain. But Nintendo will also have to announce the device sometime in the coming months if the launch of the Switch Pro is scheduled for the first half of the year.
