COLUMBIA, SC, January 15, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Gov. Henry McMaster’s recent recognition of January 24th to January 30th as South Carolina School Choice Week marks the eighth time in the past ten years that the state governor has proclaimed the Week. Schools of all kinds – traditional public, public magnet, public, private, online, and home education – will participate in the more than 33,000 celebrations that will take place across America.

“Choosing a school is not an abstract idea; it is a transformative reality for families,” he said. Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. “We are excited about the creative plans South Carolina the families did it to safely celebrate this year, and for Governor McMaster’s official proclamation. ”

National School Choice Week highlights effective K-12 education options for children. As a non-profit effort, the week also focuses on traditional options for public, chartered, magnet, online, private and home education. Every January, participants plan tens of thousands of events and activities – such as school fairs, open presentations and student exhibitions – to raise awareness about school choice in all 50 states. Throughout the year, National School Choice Week develops resources and guides to help families search for schools or learning environments for their children. The effort is apolitical and non-partisan and does not advocate for legislation.
