
Power of Us Life Sciences Conference in South Carolina
Increased enrollment, partnership and virtual exhibition hall attract great interest at SCBIO’s The Power of Us conference, February 16-17
GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA, USA, January 25, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – A newly announced group of national and state leaders will join the President and CEO of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), Dr. Michelle McMurry-Heath , as the main attraction of SCBIO “The Power of Us” virtual conference scheduled to broadcast from February 16th to 17th.
Recently announced additions include Microsoft Vice President Jamie Harper, who leads the global corporation’s team supporting higher education and K-12 initiatives across America, and Bill Stadtlander, business leader at Verily, the Google subsidiary focused on life sciences and using health data and AI to improve lives.
At Microsoft, Mr. Harper leads a team that supports higher education and K-12 initiatives that impact students, teachers and public and private leaders. Previously, he led the Microsoft education team in the United States and served as general manager for ten countries in Asia and South Africa. Prior to Microsoft, Jamie worked for The Coca-Cola Company and Westinghouse Power Generation. He holds an MBA from Emory University and a degree in Industrial Engineering with a major in Economics from Clemson University.
Mr. Stadtlander is the commercial leader for Verily for Baseline, his end-to-end digital platform solution for transforming clinical research, increasing participation, increasing efficiency and incorporating new data. Bill has over 15 years of commercial health experience with previous positions in health practice Ceribell, Element Science, Boston Scientific and McKinsey & Co. He holds an MBA from Wharton, a master’s in Biotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania and a degree in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering by MIT.
Also nominated to speak at SCBIO 2021 are Courtney Christian, Senior Director of Policy and Research at PhRMA and former leader of the Black Women’s Health Imperative; Dr. Harris Pastides, former president of USC and outgoing president of the SC Institute of Medicine and Public Health; Dr. Pat Cawley, CEO of MUSC Health; and Dr. Marjorie Jenkins, Dean of the School of Medicine at USC – Upstate and Academic Director of Prisma Health Upstate, among other speakers.
