Stacey Griffith – the celebrity instructor at SoulCycle who cut the line for a COVID vaccine claiming she was an “educator” – may have apologized for her actions, but a former employee tells us that her behavior is not surprising.
“It is totally in line with Stacey’s character. She operates entirely from a narcissistic point of view,” said the former official. “She has a huge God complex.”
On Friday, Griffith – whose devotees include Madonna and Kelly Ripa – posted on Instagram about how she got vaccinated at a high school on Staten Island, and told the Daily Beast that she qualified for being a “good educator” be. (Teachers are eligible in New York.)

“In my profession as a health and wellness teacher, it is my daily priority to keep my community and its respiratory systems operating at full capacity so that they can fight the virus if they are infected with it,” she said. “I can only teach them if I am also healthy.”

On Monday, she apologized saying that she “made a terrible error of judgment”.

SoulCycle seemed to distance itself from the movement by telling Page Six in a comment on Tuesday that Griffith “operated in a personal capacity by applying for a NY state COVID-19 vaccine. SoulCycle has no role in organizing or obtaining vaccinations for instructors or other staff nor do we encourage any [our] employees to seek priority vaccines as educators ”.
The ex-employee snorted, “they love to ignore the bad behavior of the instructors … It’s a bull culture.”

Anyway, the controversy is only the last to reach the top fitness brand. The best instructors were accused of making racist and homophobic comments at work, having sex with clients and embarrassing co-workers.
SoulCycle previously commented on these incidents that its “core values” are “diversity, inclusion, acceptance and love. When we receive complaints or allegations related to behavior in our community that is not in accordance with our values, we take them very seriously and both investigate and treat them. “
