The ‘SNL weekend update leads to the revival of’ Frasier ‘,’ The Muppet Show ‘and Marjorie Taylor Greene disclaimer – Deadline

Saturday Night Live ‘s Weekend update reflected in some of the week’s biggest headlines. This time, it included Paramount +’s announcement that a Frasier revival series is officially taking place.

Because it’s been 16 years since the end of the original series, Colin Jost used Friends explain Frasier for younger viewers, causing laughter and some moans.

He also commented on the disclaimer of offensive content placed on the old The Muppet Show episodes on Disney +, suggesting that they serve as an invitation to viewers to check out the programs.

Weekend update, which also affected the $ 1.9 billion stimulus package (“Just like when I’m drunk, Congress decided to spend a lot of money at 2:30 am,” said Jost.) and in Ted Cruz’s CPAC speech, featured Cecily Strong reprising her impersonation of Marjorie Taylor Greene and Kenan Thompson bringing back LaVar Ball.

Strong’s congresswoman, Greene, was asked to explain her latest controversial action, putting a sign that there are two genders, male and female, next to the office of a fellow congressman with a transgender daughter.

“They are calling me the ‘new girl’ in Congress,” said Strong’s Greene of his tendency to generate controversy just a few weeks after his term. And it does not mean that it is the newness of the Congress. “No, it’s like the evil clown that attacks children,” she said.
