The Sims 4 now has Kits, a new way to buy DLC packs

The Sims 4 already receives regular new content through expansions, Game Packs and Stuff Packs, but now EA Maxis is also selling Kits. The kits are smaller packages that can be purchased, which add new features or items to the long-running simulation game, and three are currently available.

They add 90s athletics, country style kitchen cabinets and dust, respectively, and each will cost $ 5 / £ 5 / € 5. There is a trailer below.

It is always dangerous to refer to the “community” of a game, as if the players of a game are a monolithic group. The Sims 4 is a strong example. The series has a reputation among some of the players who lose money on dozens of paid expansions, and if it’s you, the Kits won’t change your mind. The comments in the video above show how some people feel, and I suspect that there will be similar comments below this post soon.

Look elsewhere, however, and there are many Sims 4 players excited about the different things offered in these packages. I? I play The Sims almost entirely on pause, just to build fabulous houses, so a set of chic and worn kitchen furniture is very attractive. I’ve seen others, those who really want to play the parts of the game, talk about how cute the little dust bunny creatures are. Because the “Dust” Kit doesn’t just add inert piles of dust, see.

A comment that I saw a lot and that seems fair is that these kits are bigger news for console players than for people on PC, because bunnies aside, PC players can now access equally small and focused sets created by the community. Our choices for the best Sims 4 CC contain a lot of kitchen stuff, for example, and it’s all free.

The Country Kitchen Kit from The Sims 4, Kit Bust The Dust and Kit Throwback Fit are now available on Origin and Steam for $ 5 / £ 5 / € 5. Future packages will be released one at a time. You can also see more of these kits in this archived stream from the Twitch developer from an hour ago.
