The side effects of the vaccine are really good: side effects of Moderna and Pfizer, explained

Each vaccine comes with a chance of side effects. But with these new Covid-19 vaccines, the chances are much greater. Most people will experience pain at the injection site or fatigue. Vaccines have more side effects than we are used to, which can be scary. But scientists argue that this is really a good thing.

For example, when we catch a common cold, we may feel tired and have a fever or chills. But it is not the virus that is creating these symptoms – your immune system is making you feel this way as you fight the virus.

And although the vaccines are harmless – you won’t get Covid-19 with the Covid-19 vaccine – they train your immune system to fight the virus. Therefore, you have a chance to experience some of those same “sick” sensations when your immune system is activated in response to the vaccine.

Watch the video above to learn more about how your immune system works and why you can really be happy to feel a little “meh” after getting the injection.
