A juvenile suspect was reportedly arrested on Saturday afternoon after a hunt linked to the shocking fatal shooting of a high school student in Virginia.
Lucia Bremer was shot several times on Friday, forcing a nearby high school in Henrico County, Virginia, to be placed in a temporary blockade.
The eighth grader was taken to a hospital where she died of her injuries, the Richmond Times-Dispacth reported. The suspect was last seen fleeing the shooting before the manhunt began.
The suspect, who was not identified because of his age, was taken into custody in a house about eight hundred meters from where the shooting occurred, according to Henrico Citizen.
The suspect was charged with second-degree murder, reports said.

“The detectives worked tirelessly overnight to follow up on clues provided by our community partners,” Henrico police said when announcing the arrest on Saturday.
Bremer’s family confirmed his death in a statement posted on Facebook on Saturday, writing that they were “sad to report that our beloved daughter and cheerful farmer, Lucia Whalen Bremer, was killed in an unwise act of armed violence on March 26” , the Times-Dispatch reported. “Thank you for keeping our family in your thoughts as we sail for the next few weeks.”
