The sexiest game of all time, Hades, wins five BAFTA Games Awards

Last night, the British Academy of Film and Television Art (BAFTA) held its annual BAFTA Games Awards, which saw a series of excellent releases from 2020 in hopes of receiving recognition from Britain’s leading arts and media academy.

And when the curtain finally fell on the night’s festivities, Supergiant Games’ Hades it came up with the heaviest trophy bag, having won a total of five awards in various categories. The dungeon-crawler costume took home the gongs of Artistic Achievement, Game Design and Narrative, with the actor Logan Cunningham winning the Supporting Paper award for his work giving voice to various characters in the underworld. Hades ended the night by winning the coveted Best Game award – a series of accolades deserved for a brilliant launch.

Despite being nominated in 13 glaring categories, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II only managed to take home three awards: Best Animation, the EE game of the year voted by the audience and actor Laura Bailey gaining Lead Role for his excellent interpretation of the protagonist / antagonist duo Abby Anderson. Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons bagged as Best Multiplayer and “Game Beyond Entertainment”. Flying the flag for the little ones, Phobia Entertainment won the award for best debut for its sticky body horror title, Carrion.
