The seven-day positivity rate continues to decline; 2 new confirmed deaths

MADISON, Wisconsin – New confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin increased by more than 600 on Sunday, while the state’s seven-day positivity rate continued its downward trend of one month.

According to new data from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, authorities confirmed 671 more cases, bringing the state’s total life to 549,826 cases. With the exception of December 26, 2020, the day after Christmas, this is the smallest number of new cases confirmed in a single day since September 7, 2020.

Health officials confirmed two new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the pandemic now to 6,054, after two new deaths were reported.

The number of vaccinees in Wisconsin continued to escalate on Sunday. A total of 164,026 Wisconsin residents have completed their vaccination series.

More than 164,000 WI vaccinated residents.

Health officials said 61 more Wisconsin residents have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours for complications caused by COVID-19.
