The Samsung One UI 3.1 update brings powerful features selected from the Galaxy S21 to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Z series

New camera features and capabilities available to more Galaxy users as Samsung begins its One UI 3.1 update

Today, Samsung Electronics announced that the latest One UI 3.1 update is coming for the Galaxy S20 series (Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 + and Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20 FE) and Galaxy Note20 series (Galaxy Note20, Galaxy Note20 Ultra), in addition of the Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Z Flip series.¹ The update, which was first launched with the Galaxy S21 series, features new camera features selected for capturing and editing amazing photos and videos, and new smart features that enhance everyday life so you can get more out of your Galaxy device.

Take dynamic photos and videos with new smart camera features

The Galaxy S21 with One UI 3.1 introduced incredible camera innovations, making it easier than ever to capture stunning photos and record professional-looking videos. Galaxy S20 owners can now experience these features with the One UI 3.1 update.

Never miss a moment with the best Single Socket^two feature, which captures a variety of static and video formats simultaneously, with just one touch.

After capturing your photo, One UI 3.1 introduces the new Object Eraser tool to help you get that perfect image. Use this smart photo editing tool to cut unwanted parts of your photos effortlessly, without time-consuming manual editing. If you want to edit objects that are distracting, just touch the area you want to remove and it will be automatically selected and deleted.

Enhanced features of a 3.1 UI touch autofocus and automatic exposure controller³, making adjusting the focus and brightness of your photos easier than ever so you can always capture your best shot. With just one swipe left or right anywhere on the screen, you can now edit the image’s brightness before taking the photo.

One UI 3.1 also features the new Multi Mic Recording ⁴ feature, which, when in Pro Video mode, allows you to record audio simultaneously via the phone and a connected Bluetooth device, such as Galaxy Buds Pro, Buds Live and Buds + ⁵. So whether you’re a vlogger, narrating a scene where you want to be heard from afar, or a budding musician who wants to record the sound of your voice and instrument separately to get more professional sound, with Multi Mic Recording for you, you can be creative and make videos that look and sound amazing.

All your best photos and favorite moments are stored in the updated Gallery⁶, which now groups and organizes your videos and photos into a clean, easy-to-navigate feed.

New smart features that enhance your everyday life

Go to the settings to find the new One UI 3.1 Eye Comfort Shield⁷ mode, which automatically adjusts the blue light based on the time of day. Using the warmer tones of the Eye Comfort Shield can help you fall asleep more easily at night, and you can set your device to automatically adjust screen colors throughout the day or customize your schedule yourself.

Your privacy is important and now One UI 3.1 makes it easier to control what you share. Remove the metadata that reveals the location of the photos before sharing or using them Private Sharing⁸ to control who is allowed to access the content you upload and how long it is available.

With the new One UI 3.1 on your devices, the Galaxy ecosystem experience is smooth and seamless. In addition to a consistent interface that makes switching between your phone and tablet hassle free, Galaxy Buds Pro, Buds Live and Buds + ‘s⁹ Automatic Switching feature means that your audio follows you when you switch between Galaxy devices.
