Samsung has diligently followed its One UI 3 launch schedule based on Android 11 and has even surprised us with some initial updates. Shortly after launching the new software on its flagship smartphones in the past two years, the South Korean giant is launching Android 11 for the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 +. However, instead of One UI 3, Android tablets are getting One UI 3.1, making them the only devices besides the S21 series to have it so far.

As reported by TizenHelp, Galaxy Tab S7 (SM-T875), Galaxy Tab S7 + LTE (SM-T975N) and Galaxy Tab S7 + 5G are currently receiving software update in South Korea with firmware versions T875NKOU1BUA8, T975NKOU1BUA8and T976NKOU1BUA8, respectively. With a file size of around 2.4 GB, you may want to connect your tablet to Wi-Fi while downloading.

Among the new features that One UI 3.1 features – including Private Share, better performance and memory allocation, and chat bubbles – the most interesting seems to be Second Screen, which is Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Sidecar. It allows users to use the Tab S7 or S7 + as a second monitor or sketch pad with select Samsung Windows PCs – Galaxy Book Flex, Galaxy Book Flex Alpha, Galaxy Book Ion, Galaxy Book S and Notebook Plus, for be more precise. But, as seen in the image above, it also appears to be working with the Odyssey gaming laptop.

According to the official release schedule, the Tab S7 series should only receive Android 11 in March. But as some users are already getting the update in South Korea, it won’t be a surprise if Samsung delivers it earlier than expected in other markets as well.

Samsung went ahead and made the update of the Tab S7 and Tab S7 + One UI 3.1 official with a press release on its news website. It confirms the feature on the second screen and also shows some other new features.

One is the ability to continue applications and copy and paste to other devices, which will allow you to start where you left off on your Galaxy S21 phone.

There is also wireless keyboard sharing, which allows you to use the Tab S7 + Book Cover keyboard to write things on your S21.

Finally, there is the Auto Switch, which allows you to automatically switch which device is transmitting audio to your Galaxy Buds Pro, depending on the situation.

You can see the press release if you want more information about each feature. Unfortunately, this does not mean that it is available other than to say that the update is being released starting today.
